Finished Painting #4!
I finished my forth painting of the semester! It is a different subject from what I would normally choose, but I kinda like it. As I discussed in my last post, the prompt for this assignment was to find inspiration from math and science books. I was drawn more to the science books, and while I would normally never paint bugs I thought these beetles were beautiful. They were beautiful colors and so metallic! It was really fun to try and recreate the shifting colors and metallic finish.
Now that I am done with this painting, I am on to my last painting project of the semester. It has to be a two painting series and the topic is completely up to me. With so much creative freedom here, I am feeling a little lost. With graduation coming up so quickly, I kind of want to do something about new beginnings, but I do not want it to feel too sappy or corny. I am kind of lost and am playing with a lot of ideas at the moment. If any of you have ideas, please comment below.

The painting itself almost scared me away. I HATE bugs with a passion, especially beetles. I would rather come up with a way to paint the unit circle, even the pythagorean theorem over bugs. But, it does look beautiful, so kudos to you for making something so disgusting beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love the painting! One talent I wish I had is being able to paint or draw. And I completely understand about graduating early and wanting to focus on new beginnings. I don't have any ideas to contribute lol, but I'm looking forward to seeing what you create.
